Breaking the Facebook habit

Today I break the Facebook habit.  Between the motto I’ve chosen to live by and the frustrations of a website that seems to be in a permanent state of “database error”, added in with all the, in my opinion, un-necessary to REAL communication crap that seems to be the norm, Facebook no longer works for my lifestyle.

If you’ve followed me on there, you’ll have to follow me here.  If you don’t follow me here, that’s okay, I’m living my life for me either way.

Oh, that motto I’ve chosen to live by?  Here it is, it suits me right now:

Lesss TV, more reading

Less shopping, more outdoors

Less clutter, more space

Less rush, more slowness

Less junk, more real food

Less busywork, more impact

Less driving, more walking

Less noise, more solitude

Less focus on the future, more on the present

Less work, more play

Less worry, more smiles

BREATHE

I don’t know who wrote this, but it resonated with me and is posted in both the studio and the kitchen.

Today, I meet with a new customer, and then either take my bicycle for a spin around the neighborhood, or sit in the sunshine and do some hand work, depending on whether or not the winds calm down.

I do understand and feel the same way! FB is getting more commercial and less personal. I will follow you on your blog and hope to see you at some shows!

I do have to agree with you about FB. I already follow you here, so we’re good! I will probably stay on FB because I keep in contact with my extended family that way. That way I see pictures of my great nieces and nephews and get to see what’s up in their world. I really like that saying. I am going to have to print it out and tape it to my world as well!

    Then go for a walk!

Judy, I followed your blog long befoe I ever went to FB. I have an acc’t there only because our DIL posts pics of our grandson there. She said she doesn’t want to do duplicate work, so I joined.
I have a business page because I was told I should. Yeah, right.

I’ve met some wonderful people and good friends on Facebook, as well as (like others mentioned) keep in touch with family, old friends from ‘home’, and pics from them there. But I understand the time involved…and getting caught up in it.

I’ll visit here as I usually do. 😀 Love ya sis!

Great words to live by! My sentiments, too. Sometimes we just have to choose the more important things.
