Still here…….

December 4, 2010

Contrary to what it appears, I have NOT fallen off the face of the earth, nor have I found a black hole and dropped through it.  Yes, it has been that long since I blogged.  Life has been busy here, it’s been a busy work season with lots of people quilting for the holidays!!!  Yeah for quilting!  I’m glad to see things picking back up after last year.

In my spare time (evenings) I’ve been doing a lot of small things, nothing really noteworthy.  I’ve finished another pair of knitted socks:

And I’ve knitted a hat with a really cool pattern that swirls a rib as it knits:

I’ve completed a commission tie quilt:

And the quilting detail:

Started another pair of socks:

Finished the Christening outfit I was working on:

(well, except for a final pressing!)

Isn’t the top cute!

What else have I been up to?   A little design work (pictures later), lots of dog play time, and I’ve been reading.  My current book is a volume of stories by Dickens.  “A Christmas Carol” is so different when you actually read the original story!  Who knew?  Oh and customer quilts of course, mostly pantographs.

I’d like to tell you I’m going to be here more often, but I can’t make any promises….just good intentions.  When those intentions aren’t disrupted by equipment failures as my Wacom tablet, my HP printer and my Kodak camera have all decided to have issues with my laptop the last couple weeks.  Or maybe my laptop is having issues with them?  Either way, I am learning the value of avoiding frustration, so I make no promises……

But I will try to be here more!

Glad to hear from you! You HAVE been busy! The tie quilt is beautiful, and the christening outfit charming! Sure wish I could knit socks–they look so warm! But my gimpy hands don’t do well with repetitive motions…
