Also known as the trials of being short! I am short, I admit it, not terribly short, but short enough that some everyday chores escape my attention. Like dusting the screen on the tv in the studio that’s almost up to the ceiling.

Of course for space in a small studio, that is a perfect location. But for actually being able to see the screen, well, it’s a bit high to dust. My usual course of events…..go to the kitchen, pull out the step stool, climb up on it and then dust up there.
But ever since falling off a ladder last October, I’ve been a bit leary of climbing around when I’m home alone. So today I got inventive! I love my ostrich feather duster, or I did, but I’d rather use Pledge that grabs the dust than just swooshing it all over the place. So I made this:

And just how would you make one of these re-usable cabinet dusters you ask???
Well, all it takes is:

That’s right, you too can have a reusable duster that can be used with furniture polish…….all you need is an old feather duster, a dustcloth and a rubber band!!!!! LOL
Oh, did you come here looking for QUILTING pictures, or ART pictures? They’re coming, soon, I’m almost to the end of the NYB quilt and it’s looking really good…….see:
Yes, that really is the bottom edge. Pictures soon, I promise….if I can just keep my mind from going off on these cleaning side-trips!!!!

Wow, yesterday was a great mail day!!!!!! My mailbox was full of fun, thoughtful, and terriffic surprises.
I received a card from a dear friend of mine who lives up north. The imagery on the card is wonderful…..and her note inside is even more precious to me.
I received a package of seeds from Karen!!! Thanks Karen…..they’re so pretty even before I plant them! Looking forward to lots of monarchs this year!
And I received my “Winter Skinny Swap” pages from one of my art groups. We did an exchange of 4″x7″ pages depicting the theme of winter. This was my first participation in a “paper” based swap and I truly enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to the next swap even more now!
Here’s a picture of what all my pages look like laid out on the carpet…..

I’ll be taking time to go through them one by one when I sit for quiet time (as I did yesterday when I got them). I need to make a fabric covered binder for them like I have my fiber art postcards in. Hmmm, maybe one with a winter theme?

I didn’t take a walk with the dogs this morning, but apparently one of them did without me. Probably my cocker with her long fuzzy ears.
How do I know this? By the evidence in the middle of the living room carpet that was found when I got out of the shower:

Umm, Brandi, dear furkid, this is NOT the exact decorating I had in mind for fall inside the house!
